Marco

Champion Gucci's Free as the Breede, call name Marco, a/k/a Pokey, went to wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge on December 6, 2004. He was 12 years old.

Marco started off life as a prized show dog until his retirement. Marco was surrendered to rescue in November 2003 at the age of 11. He was found to have severe heart valve damage due to neglect of his teeth. He had to have 14 teeth removed at his first trip to the vet! We decided to keep him, instead of adopting him out, due to his poor health. Besides - we were captivated by his big brown eyes! Through thoughtful veterinary care and good nutrition, Marco began to thrive and prosper.

He was a gentle spirit who charmed everyone with his lovable ways. Despite his health, he loved to run and play with his sisters. He liked nothing more than to lay on the grass in the summer sun. Slowly his damaged heart got the best of his strong spirit and he went peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge on a quiet evening in December.

We have many fond memories of our "little man" and he remains in our hearts today.
